Who is Home Team Alum Tait Blum?

Tait Blum is an American actor who made his acting debut at the age of 12 in 2018 as a younger Bob Lee in the TV series, Shooter. He recently rose to fame after appearing in the Netflix movie, Home Team.

Born on March 31, 2006, to Heather Blum and Todd Blum, Tait was raised alongside his younger brother, Teddy Blum. He has a grandfather named Roger Blum.

Tait Blum’s younger brother, Teddy Blum is also an actor. His brother made his acting debut in 2017 and has more than half a dozen acting credits in his name. Some of his notable works include Big Little Lies, Klaus, Life in Pieces, and For All Mankind.

Famous For Appearing in “Home Team”

Tait Blum is a part of the movie named Home Team which is based on NFL coach Sean Payton. He portrays the role of Payton’s son, Connor Payton. Similarly, Kevin James appears as Sean and Jackie Sandler played the role of Beth Shuey.

The movie is written by Christopher Titone and Keith Blum. It was directed by Charles and Daniel Kinnane. The film was released on January 28, 2022, on Netflix.

While talking about his career, Tait made his acting debut in 2018 from his appearance in the TV series, Shooter as younger Bob Lee. He is also known for his portrayal in For All Mankind and Titans. He recently appeared as Logan in the TV series, Team Kaylie.

His Preparation for Home Team

To prepare for the movie, Tait researched on the real-life Warriors. He wanted to learn what coach Payton meant to Warriors.

I did research on Connor and the real life “Warriors” prior to shooting.  I wanted to see how Connor talked and get a sense for the overall feelings the Warriors had towards coach Payton.  I studied the script to try and familiarize myself with the complete backstory before going on set.

Learned Football for His Role in Home Team

Tait Blum had always loved football and had prior experience as a quarterback. However, he wanted to be as authentic as he can. So, he hired a coach to hone his skills.

I’ve always loved football!  I had some prior experience as a quarter-back and a quite a bit of football knowledge going into Home Team, so it felt natural.  I also knew that the real life Connor was a good athlete and I wanted his role to be played authentically, so I decided to hire a receiver coach to hone my route running and catching techniques.

Active in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Go-Kart Racing

Apart from his career as an actor, Tait Blum is also actively involved in other activities. A few years back, he participated as a Brazilian jiu-jitsu fighter and was also able to win several competitions including the SJJIF No-Gi World Title. Unfortunately, he stopped playing after his shoulder was dislocated and his arm got fractured.

He also enjoys outdoor go-kart racing. He has raced in ROTAX Grand Nationals & Challenge of the Americas.
