Ronnie Turner, Know all about Tina Turner’s Son!

Ronnie Turner is famous for being the son of legendary singer, Tina Turner, and musician, Ike Turner. He is known for appearing in the movie, What’s Love Got to Do with It, based on his mother’s life. Like his parents, he is also involved in the music industry and was a bass guitar in the Manufactured Funk band.

Ronnie was born on October 27, 1960, in Los Angeles, as the youngest child of Tina. He completed his schooling at Seaside High School and later on joined Hartnell College.

Married to Afida Turner

Ronnie Turner is in a longtime marital relationship with French-American singer, Afida Turner (Hafidda Messai). They shared their vows on March 3, 2007, in a private ceremony. They got married after dating for a short period of time.

Back in 2017, there was a huge rumor that they separated briefly but reconciled later on.

Do They Share Any Kids Together?

To this date, the pair has not shared any kids together. Back in 2016, Afida revealed that she faced a miscarriage while she was three months pregnant.

Six Half-Siblings

Ronnie Turner has six half-siblings: Raymond Craig, Ike Turner Jr., Mia, Twanna Melby, Linda Trippeter, and Michael Turner from his father’s and mother’s different marriages.

Raymond Craig Turner was from her mother’s relationship with Raymond Hill and the remaining other siblings are from his father’s several marriages.

His brother, Craig committed suicide on July 3, 2018. As per the sources, he shot himself in his home in Los Angeles but the reason is unknown. Professionally, he was a real estate agent.

Career as a Musician

Being born to musician parents, Ronnie Turner also developed his interest in music and loved singing songs, composing music, and playing several musical instruments.

In 1972, he formed a band, Manufactured Funk, with Patrick Moten. With the band, he performed acts such as Natalie Cole, Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes, New Birth, Rufus.

After his parent’s divorce, he played instruments for his birth parents’ band. In 1999, he played bass guitar for Santa Barbara and Los Angeles-based band, The Prophets.

Apart from his career in music, he has also tried his hands at acting. He was part of the documentary series, What’s Love Got to Do with It in 1993 which is based on the life of his mother.

Parents Relationship

Tina Turner and Ike Turner tied the knot in 1962 in Tijuana when Ronnie was around two years old. However, after several years of marriage, Tina filed for divorce in July 1976. After two years, in 1978, their divorce was finalized.

After their divorce, Ronnie’s mother married her second husband, Erwin Bach in 2013. Since then the pair is going very strong.

On the other hand, his father has been in multiple marital relationships and has married five times. Firstly, he was married to Bonnie Mae Wilson in 1953 but after three years, they divorced. In 1979, he married for the second time with Lorraine Taylor.

His fourth marriage was with Jeanette Bazzell Turner from 1995 to 2001. His last marriage was with Audrey Madison Turner in 2006. They were together until Ike’s death in 2007.

Father Died in 2007

Ronnie Turner’s father died at the age of 76 on December 12, 2007. As per the sources, he was found dead at his residence in San Marcos, California, by his fifth wife, Audrey.

Ike Turner’s Death and Funeral!

The reason for his death was believed to be a cocaine overdose by the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s post-mortem report.
