What happened to Nevada Alexander Musk, Late Son of Elon Musk?

Nevada Alexander Musk came to fame for being the son of Tesla and Space X founder, Elon Musk.

Nevada was born in 2002, in Orange County, California, as the first child to Elon and his first wife, Justine Musk. However, he died at the age of 10 weeks.

How did Nevada Die?

Nevada Alexander Musk died of Sudden Death Infant Syndrome when he was 10 weeks old. He was napping on his back like always; however, this time, he stopped breathing.

Elon and Justine Musk called the paramedics and resuscitated him. But, it was no good. He hadn’t breathed for so long that it dealt serious damage to his brain.

Musk was kept on life support in a hospital in Orange County. After three days, Elon and Justine decided to get him off of it.

On the same week as his son’s demise, Elon had sold Paypal to eBay and his net worth had risen to well over $100 million.

How did Elon and Justine Cope After Nevada’s Death?

It was hard for both Elon Musk and Justine Musk to cope with their first child’s death.

While Elon kept his sufferings to himself, his wife “grieved openly.” Musk even called his wife’s coping methods “emotionally manipulative.”

Less than two months after Nevada’s passing, his mother visited an IVF clinic to plan her next pregnancy.

Within the next five years, she and Elon welcomed twins and triplets.

Six Siblings

If Nevada Alexander Musk were alive, he would have had six other siblings, five from his parents and one from his father’s relationship with Claire Elise Boucher AKA Grimes.

Two years after Nevada’s demise, Elon and Justine Musk welcomed twin sons, Xavier and Griffin Musk.

Nevada’s youngest sibling was born on May 4, 2020, in Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles, California. He was named X AE A-Xii Musk.

Relationship of Nevada’s Parents

Nevada’s parents, Elon and Justine Musk first met during college. Both of them were studying at Queen’s University in Ontario, Canada.

They married in January 2000, welcomed six children, and divorced on September 13, 2008. The duo tried therapy sessions but couldn’t continue their relationship.

One month and three sessions later, he gave me an ultimatum: Either we fix this marriage today or I will divorce you tomorrow, by which I understood he meant, Our status quo works for me, so it should work for you. He filed for divorce the next morning.

After their separation, Elon started dating British actress Talulah Riley and married in 2010. They divorced two years later, but in 2013, they remarried just to divorce in 2016.
