As already mentioned, Moroccan Scott Cannon is the youngest son of Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon. But, did you know, he is the twin to his sister, Monroe Cannon?
Well, Monroe and Moroccan were born on Saturday, April 30, 2011, in Los Angeles, California. The duo was born on the third wedding anniversary of their parents. Roc, who was born with the birth sign Taurus, has, although an American national, a multiracial ethnicity. From his father’s side, he’s an African while from his mother’s side; he’s an Irish American, African American, and Venezuelan American.
4. Meaning Behind His Name
If you think whether Moroccan Scott Cannon has a deep meaning behind his name, then you’re not wrong. His first name, ‘Moroccan,’ was derived from the Moroccan-inspired design on Mariah’s New York City apartment. This was the place where Cannon proposed!
His middle name, ‘Scott,’ similarly, came from Nick’s middle name. In addition to it, Scott was also the maiden name of his father’s grandmother.
Not only did Roc’s name had a meaning, but his sister’s name also had a meaning behind it. ‘Monroe’ was derived from their mother’s inspiration, Marilyn Monroe. Unlike him, his twin sibling doesn’t have a middle name as their mom also had none.

His parents almost had to pay the $5,000 fee for the dog, but thanks to the confirmation call, they were saved. When Nick got the confirmation call informing him that his dog was ready, he insisted that he hadn’t ordered a dog. Well, matters closed now as they canceled the dog delivery later on.

Can you believe it? Roc was only six years old when he tried to order a dog online and almost succeeded in it. Well, his parents didn’t cancel the dog because they didn’t want one, they did so because they already had two dogs at their home.
2. Virtual Birthday Party
Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon’s kids Moroccan Scott Cannon and Monroe Cannon, were born on April 30, 2011. So, this year, 2020, marks the 9th year of their birth. But, due to this COVID-19 pandemic, they had to celebrate their birthday differently.
This year, Roe and Roc celebrated their birthday virtually. Yes, you heard that, right! They had a party online with all their friends wishing them a happy birthday. Their mom took to her Insta to wish her kids a happy birthday. Their dad did the same. Here’s Nick’s post!

1. Parents Split!
Moroccan Scott and Monroe Cannon were present at their parents’ wedding renewal in 2013, which took place at Disneyland. But, little did they know that their parents would part ways just a year after. Nick and Mariah filed for the divorce on December 12, 2014, and went separate ways. Though they have divorced, the duo still comes together to co-parent their kids.
Mariah has already found the love of her life once again in the form of partner Bryan Tanaka, who used to be her backup dancer. Prior to Tanaka, she almost married Australian billionaire James Packer in 2016. They engaged but the wedding never happened.
