Monroe Cannon is already a star thanks to her voice role in the movie, All I Want for Christmas is You. Well, this isn’t actually the reason behind her fame; it’s her celebrity parents!
Monroe Cannon is the eldest daughter of musician Mariah Carey and her former partner, Nick Cannon. She was born as the fraternal twin of her brother Moroccan Scott Cannon.

5. Twins of Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon
Monroe Cannon is the eldest daughter of Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon and is the fraternal twin to her brother, Moroccan Scott Cannon.
Both Monroe and Moroccan were born on April 30, 2011, Saturday, in Los Angeles, California, the US. They were born through C-section on the third anniversary of their parents. The Taurus born beauty is an African American from her father’s side; however, she’s an Irish American, African American, and Venezuelan American as per her mom’s descent.
4. Meaning Behind Her Name
Well, the famous singer Mariah Carey thought it out when naming her eldest child, Monroe Cannon. Her name was derived from Carey’s inspiration, Marilyn Monroe.
Like her, her brother, Moroccan, also has a deep meaning behind his name. His first name, Moroccan, was taken from the Moroccan styled decor in Mariah’s New York City Apartment. This was where Cannon proposed Carey. Similarly, his middle name Scott came from his father’s middle name and his father’s grandmother’s maiden name.
3. Movie Debut
Unlike her brother, Moroccan Scott Cannon, Monroe Cannon has stayed very close to the filming industry. At just five years of age, she made an appearance on her mom’s TV series documentary, Mariah’s World in 2016.
Monroe then went on to voice the character of Michelle in the movie, All I Want for Christmas is You in 2017. This movie shows a short and sweet story of little Mariah wishing for a puppy. Cannon even went on to appear in the music video of her mother’s song of the same name.
2. Virtual Birthday Party
As already mentioned before, Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon welcomed children Monroe and Moroccan Scott Cannon on April 30, 2011. As in this year, everybody was in lockdown at their homes due to the COVID pandemic; it’s difficult for the two kids to celebrate their birthday but, they celebrated it through a virtual party.
Roe and Roc had Roblox themed birthday party at home with many of their friends cheering them online. Their mom and dad wished their kids a happy birthday through a post on their socials.

1. Parents Split!
Monroe and Moroccan Scott Cannon were born three years after their parents married. Hence, a year after their birth in 2013, their parents renewed their marital vows at Disneyland. But, who knew the pair would go separate ways just a year after. Their parents Nick and Mariah, filed for divorce on December 12, 2014, and parted ways. Though that, the duo still comes together to co-parent their kids.
Nick Cannon has already found his partner in crime following his divorce with Mariah. He is now dating girlfriend Jessica White, who, in contrast to her beau, is quite vocal about her relationship with him.

As for Mariah Carey, she has also found love twice following the divorce. She almost walked down the aisle with Australian billionaire James Packer. They were engaged with a $10 million engagement ring, but they never married. After Packer, Carey found the love of her life, Bryan Tanaka, who used to be her backup dancer.
