Katherine Kady Allen came to the limelight thanks to her parents, father, American actor and comedian, Tim Allen, and mother, Laura Diebel.
Kady Allen was born in 1989, five years after her parents, Tim and Laura walked down the aisle. She has a younger sister from her father’s second marriage with Jane Hajduk, Elizabeth Allen Dick, who is 19 years younger than her.

Tim Allen and Laura Diebel are the parents of Katherine Kady Allen. The duo was together since they were studying at Western Michigan University, but they separated ways in 1999 and finalized their divorce in March 2003.

Katherine’s parents first met at Western Michigan University where they fell in love, but after graduation, Tim was arrested on drug charges after he was found with the possession of 650 grams of cocaine in the Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International Airport. He spent two years and four months in jail and was paroled on June 12, 1981. His sentence was shortened after he confessed the names of his dealers.
After a few years of getting out of the prison, in 1984, Tim and Laura tied the knot and five years later, they welcomed Kady. This was when Tim’s career took off and he couldn’t give enough time to his partner and daughter.
Tim was always on the road. In fact, he was busy with his famous TV series, Home Improvement. In 1999, he got back home after completing eight seasons of the series, but alas, their marriage was already over. Though Laura attended the Friday tapings, she wasn’t around all that much. “She was raising a child, trying to maintain the home life,” Billy Riback, Home Improvement‘s creative consultant, recalled.
When Tim and Laura appeared in the Toy Story 2 premiere in LA in 1999 with their then-9-year-old daughter, Katherine, it was as if nothing happened. However, four days later, Kady’s mom filed for divorce citing irreconcilable differences, and four years after, in March 2003, their divorce was finalized.

Step-Mother of Kady Allen
Katherine Kady Allen stayed with her father after her parents’ divorce. A couple of years after the divorce, Tim found love again as he met Jane Hajduk. The duo dated for five years and on October 7, 2006, walked down the aisle in a private marriage celebration in West Lake, Colorado. Kady was already 17-years-old during his father’s second marriage.

Three years after the marriage, in March 2009, Tim and Jane welcomed a baby girl, Elizabeth Allen Dick. Katherine and Elizabeth are almost 20 years apart.

In 2011, Tim was asked about how his fatherhood experience helped him in his show, Last Man Standing, and also if having boys could have been anything different.
In my experience, it’s all wonderful with girls until about 16. Around that time, boys kind of calm down and start focusing their testosterone. Girls get a little challenging, especially for fathers.

Tim was full of regrets when he spoke with Parade about his second fatherhood experience. He revealed that he was gone so much in his first marriage that he wouldn’t do so in the second one.
I was gone so much in my first marriage. I love the moments when I engage with my youngest daughter now. It’s not my thing to sit on the ground and play tea party, but I’ll do it because it’s a moment that will stick with me forever.

Tim’s not the same guy he was when he was married for the first time. He’s been sober and has learned to connect with his family.
Katherine’s father is now spending more time with his family. While talking to Closer, he joked that his daughters didn’t find him very funny. Well, whatever case it may be, it’s clear that Tim is trying to be a good father now and that’s what it counts!
