Jane filed for divorce on October 20, 2011, in Los Angeles Superior Court just nine months into their marriage. The reason? “Irreconcilable differences.”

The daughter of Jim Carrey participated in American Idol in 2012. Her first audition in San Diego was a success. She performed Bonnie Raitt’s Something to Talk About.

Carrey sang Looking Out My Backdoor by Creedence Clearwater Revival during the Hollywood week. But she didn’t get through to the third round.

Jane later revealed that her nervousness got the best of her and it caused her to be eliminated from the second round.

I freaked out when I was there so I was really really shaky. I know I can do way better than that so I’m really disappointed.

Apart from her appearance on the American Idol, she has a band named The Jane Carrey. In 2009, her band released a self-titled album. One of her songs, Sticky Situation, also featured on her dad’s movie, Dumb & Dumber To’s soundtrack.

The 35-year-old has also played as a playback singer for her dad’s Jim Carrey: I Needed Color. The movie was a short documentary about her dad.

Besides, Jane has also worked as a waitress for a number of years.
