Danny Jones Penniman is the adopted son of Richard Wayne Penniman AKA Little Richard.
Penniman was born in 1970 to Creola Jones. He was raised alongside his nine siblings, six sisters, and three brothers. Dany was adopted by Richard when he was 14 and became his only child.

Danny Jones Penniman was adopted by Little Richard and his ex-wife, Ernestine Harvin when he was 14. He was in the second grade when they first met.

The singer used to visit his mother occasionally in South Central, Los Angeles since both of them were involved in the same church.
All the kids would be waiting for him to come over. Whenever he did, he’d have a bag of coins, and he’d throw it up in the air and we scrambled. Oh, man, we got some money!
Richard left his rock and roll career to correct his $1000-a-day drug habit and dedicate his life to the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. That was when he met Danny’s mother.
When he started getting really deep back into the church at that time, she was really nice to him. It wasn’t about him being Little Richard or anything like that. Just a brother in Christ.
Following the death of his dad in 1982, Danny and his nine siblings were living a poor lifestyle. It all changed after Richard started visiting Creola frequently.
I had six sisters and three brothers, living in a poor neighborhood, doing whatever. My mom asked him: Could he take care of me? Because she didn’t she want me turning out like the rest of my -sisters and brothers, and he agreed to it.
There is no paperwork for his adoption. Richard adopted him due to his mother’s request. Danny moved in with Richard and was by his side until his demise in 2020.
Father’s Death in 2020
Danny Jones Penniman’s father died at the age of 87 on May 9, 2020, at his home in Tullahoma, Tennessee. He died due to bone cancer. He died two months after being diagnosed with cancer.
Richard was buried at Oakwood University Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Huntsville, Alabama.

Danny Jones Penniman might’ve received the net worth of his father, Little Richard after his demise. Richard held an estimated $40 million net worth at the time of his death. Since he was his only child and was by his side on his death bed, he might’ve ended up with the $40 million fortune.

Soon after being adopted by Little Richard, Danny Jones had surgery for his hernia. After his surgery, Penniman would pretend to be sicker than he was; however, his father could say he was faking it every single time.
He’s like, ‘Hey, there’s some girl downstairs to meet you.’ So, of course, I rushed down there real quick. They said, ‘Nobody down here to see you, what are you talking about?’ I come back up, and he’s just looking at me, shaking his head. I was like, ‘Wow, he got me once again!’
