Unsuccessful Marriage with Redd Foxx
Betty Jean Harris shared her vows with American stand-up comedian and actor, Redd Foxx in 1956 after dating for some time.

Talking about their love life, Betty told Jet Magazine, they first met at a nightclub.
For some reason, he would laugh and talk with my sister. I didn’t like him because he would be loud in the dressing room. Because the job me and my sisters had didn’t pay much money, I also held a day job and between shows, I would sleep on a cot in the dressing room.
Redd waited a year to make his move. They started dating and finally walked down the aisle in 1956.
Redd later told me, however, that he would watch me with my sisters when we were on stage, and from the first time he saw me he knew someday, I would be the one for him. He waited a year to make his bid.
18 years into their relationship, Betty and Redd divorced citing irreconcilable differences. Following their separation, Foxx got a restraining order against his ex-wife. The order prevented her from “removing, hiding, or secreting property.” In addition, she also had to return $110,000 to her ex-husband.
Besides her, Sanford also married three other women: Evelyn Killebrew, Joi Yun Chin Chung, and Ka Ho Cho.
Gave Up Her Career
After her marriage with Redd Foxx, she agreed to give up her career as a singer and dancer to become a full-time housewife.
Even though I liked show business a whole lot, I like being Mrs. Redd Foxx even more.
Following their marriage, she started managing her partner’s Redd Foxx Enterprises.
Post Divorce
Betty Foxx preferred to stay away from the limelight after her divorce from Redd Foxx. She didn’t get into any kind of relationship afterward.
Meanwhile, her ex-husband went on to marry Joi Yun Chin Chung on December 31, 1976, at the Thunderbird Hotel in Las Vegas. Unfortunately, his third marriage didn’t work for more than five years. As a settlement, Foxx had to pay $300,000.

After 10 years of being single, he married Ka Ho Cho at Little Church of the West in Las Vegas in 1991. Cho was with him till his death on October 11, 1991.
Mother of Debraca Denise
Betty is the mother of one. She has a daughter, Debraca Denise, from her relationship with her former partner.
After her marriage with Redd, the stand-up comedian and actor adopted Debraca. Denise was 9-year-old when she was adopted.
