The reality star Amanda Batula came to fame when she appeared in the reality TV series, Summer House. During her stint in the show, she lost between 15 lbs to 20 lbs of weight.

During the 1st season of the show, she was quite healthy but as her fans saw her in the other seasons of the show, she looked quite thin. What’s her secret? How did she lose weight?

The 28 years old actress Amanda Batula lost just over 15 lbs to 20 lbs of body weight in around two years. Her secret to weight loss? Well, it’s all thanks to intermittent fasting.

The 5 foot 6 inches tall actress was at her heaviest during her 1st official season, that is, Season 2. She doesn’t know how much she weighed during that time since she refused to step on the scale but afterward, she dropped back to the weight when she was in college which was around 110 lbs or 50 kg.

I don’t know how much I weighed because I refused to step on the scale but I would say I lost between like 15 to 20 pounds since then and now I’m back to my weight that I was in college.

Though the number looked really big compared to how she looked, she divulged that she gains weight pretty evenly and carries fat on her face as well. Besides, she also revealed that her weight gain during that time compelled her to buy new clothes as she couldn’t fit into them that year.

I had to buy a whole new wardrobe as I couldn’t fit into my clothes that year.

Amanda Batula’s Diet and Workout Routine

The reality star Amanda Batula, when talking about her workout routine during her Q & A session on Instagram, revealed that she doesn’t actually work out. She exercised for two years but she wasn’t able to make any progressions on her weight loss and couldn’t fit into the pants she wanted to fit in. Hence, she shifted her focus more on her eating habits.

When I was working out I was craving really bad food and so I worked with a nutritionist to figure out what should I actually be eating to achieve my goals and that’s what I’ve been doing ever since.

Amanda went on to reveal more about her weight loss diet. She revealed that it was the easiest to lose weight, for her, when she did intermittent fasting and drank bulletproof. She also cut out on all sugar and carbs.

Batula also thinks it’s better to give in to your cravings in small doses so that you “don’t over indulge.” If you want to lose weight, don’t count calories or so she believes.

The only time I looked at the nutritional labels was when I ate something processes to see how many sugars or carbs are in it.

Kyle Cooke‘s partner believes it’s important to balance out on protein, meat (if you eat it), vegetables, and fruits. But, she says it’s good to cut out on fruits since it also contains natural sugar and try to avoid all processed foods. Batula also says it’s better not to step on the scale because it was not the numbers that mattered, what mattered the most was how you felt in your clothes.

I avoided the scale for like a full year because the number that you see doesn’t matter; what mattered for me was how I felt in the clothes that I was wearing and how I physically felt about myself.

Amanda further reveals,

My weight fluctuates every single day I go up and down 5 – 10 lbs throughout the year but as long as your favorite pair of jeans fit that’s the end goal so work on maintaining that and not the number on the scale.

For her diet, Amanda used a low FODMAP diet which basically lists out foods that should be avoided, while losing weight. She also drank Bullet Proof coffee when she did intermittent fasting as it has healthy fats. She usually ate lunch at around 3 o’clock during intermittent fasting.

Amanda Batula’s Gut Issues

The Summer House star Amanda Batula suffers from a gut issue that makes her stomach seem bloated. According to the Docs, she suffered from a Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO).

Batula found out about her disease 5 years ago when every time she ate something her stomach would severely bloat. She was always constipated, always gassy.

I went to the doctor and I was like diagnosed with SIBO; It’s actually common and it basically just means that there’s more bad bacteria that there’s good. There’s antibiotic for it.

The prescription was really expensive but her doctor had some samples which she’d tried but didn’t work on her. So, she opted for the FODMAP died for three years and it worked wonders.

Well, though she had the digestive problems and had lost 15 – 20 lbs of weight, she’s now back to maintaining her figure and is living a healthy life.
